Why is the tyres color black?

History of tyres

The history of tyres starts from the year 1800. Tire mood is derived from the word tyres. Tirer means one who pulls. The rubber tires that we see today were initially made of leather, iron or wood, which protected the wheel.

Who invented the first tyres?

A craftsman named Will Wright invented the first rubber tire in 1800 when Charles I made rubber from the sap of the Ketosho Amazon and other forest trees. But when it could not adapt to the environment, Charles Goodyear invented vulcanized rubber in 1839, which was strong and capable of carrying loads.

For the first time, rubber tyres were not perfect

In 1845, pneumatic or air-filled tires were invented. Robert William Thomas patented his invention in his own name. Thomson Scottis was the inventor. He made a thin tube of many shapes to fill air inside a leather cover. It could not go into production as it had many defects or problems due to which leather tires were discontinued at that time.

Earlier the color of rubber tyres was white

About 125 years ago when the rubber tire was produced, its color was white, the rubber used to make the tire was milky white in color but the quality of the rubber and material from which the tire was made was not special and It was not able to handle the weight of the automobile or perform well on the road so it needed to be changed and changed frequently over time.

This is how black colored tires were made

If the question arises as to how the first tire was white and later turned black, the answer is that the quality of the tire is not very good, so something needs to be added to it to make it stronger and last longer. So due to carbon black material mixed in the rubber, the color of the tire turned completely black, even though the color changed from white to black, but at the same time the strength and capacity of the tire also increased. It was able to endure and this tire did not melt even after running for kilometers on hot roads in the summer heat and its strength remained the same. It can protect itself from harmful effects to UV radiation. In short, the color of the tire is black by adding carbon black to the rubber, which changed the color of the rubber but also strengthened the strength and condition of the tire.

Type of tyres

There are three types of tires. In these tires the tube is very important because the tube carries the weight of the tire and a valve body is attached to fill it with air.

Low Pressure Tyres - These tires are used in small cars or vehicles as they are filled with low pressure air which increases the tire's surface area on the road, thus increasing the ability of the tire to easily withstand road shocks and less slip on the road.

Extra low pressure tyres - also called blue type tires are very wide and have low air pressure and are used in large and heavy vehicles.

High Pressure Tyres – These tires are under high pressure, they are used in heavy vehicles, steering is easy to use, but the ability to withstand shocks on the road is very low, so the chances of falling asleep are high. Mostly used in cars

Tubeless tyres

Nowadays tubeless tires are very much in trend and tubeless tires are also being used more and more. These types of tires are used without tubes because these tires have a layer of rubber on the inside and the rim outer surface is very good while When it is mounted on the rim it becomes airtight. The removable body is fitted and the tire is inflated with it, but the disadvantage of this tire is that when it gets punctured, it has to be checked by submerging the entire tire or rim in water like a tube.
